Objective 1 : Contribute to the definition of mission strategy
The Head of Finance is responsible for:
Mercy Corps’ mission is to alleviate suffering, poverty and oppression by helping people build secure, productive and just communities. We work in over 42 countries where we have developed strong relationships with local communities and civil, private and public-sector partners including government entities at local, regional and national levels. Operational in Kenya since 2008, we currently are a team of 75 people who work from 5 offices: Nairobi, Wajir, Eldoret, Kapenguira, and Lodwar.
The purpose of this consultancy is to develop a policy brief drawing on the KMMP Impact and Economic Evaluation Report, through undertaking the following:
· Based on desk research, describe the status of PMTCT in Kenya and contextualise KMMP and National AIDS and STD Control Program (NASCOP) and M2Ms role in KMMP against this background
· Review and present key points/results across all 3 components of the external evaluation:
o Health outcome & Health impact
o Psychosocial wellbeing outcomes and impact
o Economic Evaluation

The incumbent is responsible for the development and execution of the project work plans as per the approved activity plan for his/her area of responsibility. S/he is also responsible for contribution to designing, implementing, monitoring and reporting on the progress of the project activities. The incumbent will be reporting to the PIM on a day to day basis.

You will work to increase the life chances of marginalized girls in Laikipia/Meru counties by increasing enrolment, improving school attendance, retention and learning through an integrated approach. In addition, you will support the county in the actualization of their county strategic plans aligned to Vision 2030.
You will participate in the development of new project concepts and will assist in the implementation and review of ongoing, funded projects.
Dimensions of the Role
· The DO is a member of the Country Management Team and is expected to contribute to Plan’s strategic direction in the country. S/he may deputise for the CD if required.
· The DO directly line manages the Finance Manager, Logistics and Administration Manager, IT Manager, Safety and Security Advisor, Grants Manager and the Operations Manager. S/he provides support to the CD in legal and risk management.
